NLEA President - Kevin Fitzgerald 2011-2012
May 26, 2011

Dear Members,

As you are aware, the National Law Enforcement Association has just
marked its 65th anniversary.  This accomplishment is a tribute to the Association’s
distinguished members who have supported this organization over the years.  For
this, I applaud you!

It is a privilege and an honor for me to have been voted as your new
President. You can be certain that I will do my utmost to keep the policies and
procedures, instituted by those who came before me, in place.

I believe that strong traditions, networking capabilities and long-lasting
friendships are part of the foundation that has kept this organization moving
forward for so many years.  Together with these beliefs, my goals will be to keep the
fine traditions of the organization going strong during my tenure with the NLEA.
These traditions will include our luncheon meetings, the Annual Golf Outing,
Lobster Picnics, the Christmas Party and, of course, our donations to deserving
charities.  Most importantly, I plan to keep the practice of making lifelong friends
and developing exceptional networking capabilities in full force.  Several of our past
traditions have changed, for example no more lunches at Kennedy’s, and no more
Christmas Parties at the Jacob Javits Center due to renovations, some things
change for the better and a new way of life will develop which will eventually become
a tradition.

While keeping with the Association’s current practices, during my
presidency I plan to complete the upgrade of our new website, create a password for
protection, insure that all information contained therein is secure, and give all
members the ability to access the site and retrieve up-to-the-minute information
efficiently and more accurately.  In addition, I plan to increase the NLEA’s
membership which will allow the organization to utilize the additional funding to
subsidize meetings, events, charitable donations and future developments.

In closing, I want to thank you for giving me the opportunity to serve as
President of such a prominent organization.  I look forward to the challenges ahead
during the upcoming year and hope that, together, we can keep the Association
robust for another 65 years!

                                                                       Sincerely,

      Kevin Fitzgerald
